Yoga and Anti Aging

Posted by whitney smith Thursday, November 25, 2010

Aging is natural process and it occurs to all living being at some point of their life but the process of aging can be slowed and delayed. Yoga is one of the tools which help you to slow down or delay the process of aging. A human body is composed of trillions of cells and these cells repairs and regenerates itself from time to time. When these cells suddenly stop to repair and regenerate itself then we start to age. When you think right and develop a positive attitude toward life then you can certainly increase your life span and delay the aging.

For this you have to:

Eat the right things
Think young
Live in the present

Eat the right things
When you practice a “yoga diet” then your thinking process should be complemented by the foods you eat. According to yoga eating simple and healthy foods increases our life span. A simple and healthy food means pure vegetarian foods like fresh vegetables, sprouts and seasonal fruits.
According to yoga these foods contain the power to regenerate cells of our body and mind. Nuts and other whole foods also fall within this class.

Think young
When a person lives in the company of the young then automatically he starts to think young. A man thinks acts and feels according to the company he lives with. It has been found that the body, in turn, will also turn and remain young.

Live In the Present
When you talk and think more about your past rather than your present or future then you will grow older faster. When you talk and think more about your past then psychologically you start to live in past. You will think that your time is gone and then you will age mentally and physically. But when you think about your present and the future then your mind is convinced that you have a long life to live ahead and this convinces your body as well that it has a long life ahead.

Although all the other practices of the yoga does matter but the above three are most important for living long healthy life by reversing the process of aging
