When botox is injected in the skin, it blocks the nerve impulses as a result the muscles are paralyzed temporarily. The muscles in which the botox is injected can no longer contract. This will cause the wrinkles to soften and relax. This can occur without damaging the muscle tissue.

How Long An Effect of Botox Lasts?
The effects of botox will last from 4 to 6 months. Muscles will start its action after this time period and the wrinkles and frown lines will re-appear but they will occur less severe because the muscles are being trained to relax.

Is botox treatment for you?
Only your doctor can answer this question. Basically it is used for people aged form 18-65. It’s actually for those people who want to see improvement in their facial wrinkles without undergoing a surgery or any painful procedures. But the patients who are suffering from neurological disease or who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use botox.

Botox is only a temporary measure to get rid of wrinkles and its effect will last until 4-6 months of time. Some of the most common side effects of botox are nausea, headache, and flu like symptoms, pain and redness at injected area, muscle weakness and facial pain.
