Living a long and healthy life is like a dream for most of us. But if you follow the right guidelines then, your dream of living of long and healthy life can certainly be fulfilled. You have a great chance of living a long and healthy life if you follow the tips mentioned below.

Exercise regularly
Develop habit of exercising regularly. Studies have shown that the people who exercise regularly lived significantly longer and healthier life that the people who do not exercise. However, it does not mean that you should include harsh exercises in your daily workout routine. Start with those exercises which are easy for you to perform and you are comfortable with. Even simple exercises like walking, jogging and swimming can increase your chance of living a longer and healthier life.
Eat healthy foods
Eat healthy balanced diet. You should include a lot of fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your diet. Eating fishes twice a week which is rich is omega 3 is also very good for your health as it reduces the chance of contracting coronary heart disease by up to 30 percent. You should also increase the consumption of foods which contains antioxidants. The major anti-oxidants foods are blueberries, acai-berry, green tea, dark chocolates and others.
Quit smoking or don’t smoke
Everyone knows that smoking is injurious to health. According to researchers people who has habit of smoking died earlier in comparison to people who don’t smoke. According to researchers people who smoke between 1 and 14 cigarettes per day are 8 times more likely to die early when compared to non-smokers. Smokers who smoked 15-25 cigarettes per day are 13 times more likely to die early in comparison to non smokers. Similarly, people who love to smoke over 25 cigarettes per day are likely to die 25 times earlier in comparison to people who don’t smoke. Hence, you can certainly prolong your life when you quit smoking.
Manage stress
Everybody has stress in their life to a certain degree. But most of them do not know how to manage it. You can manage your stress by avoiding those situations that triggers your stress level if possible. If avoiding the situation is not possible then reduce the time you involve yourself in that situation. Besides that taking a deep breath can also help you to manage your stress. Laughter also helps you to manage your stress. You can also use other various methods to manage your stress level. When you are able to manage your stress then you have of greater chance of living a long healthy and happy life.
Maintain sleep schedule
You should maintain your sleeping schedule. Sleeping less or sleeping too much is not good for you. According to researchers people who slept more than eight hours a day had comparatively higher death rate than normal. Similarly people who slept less than four hours a day also had lower life expectancy than the normal. People who slept six to seven hours a night had highest life expectancy. Hence you should maintain your sleep schedule and sleep six to seven hours a night.
