When your skin produces excess oil then you will have oily skin. You will have oily skin when there is overproduction in your sebaceous glands. So, a lot of skin care is needed to make your skin produce just enough oil. If proper care is not given to oily skin then it may cause several problems like acne, blackheads and shiny skin. One of the advantages of oily skin is that the effects of aging are slower in oily skin than in other skin types. Here I’ve listed some tips on how to take care of oily skin;

Cleansing
The first and most important rule of taking care of oily skin is cleansing. Cleansing kills the bacteria on your face and keeps it clean. Cleansing should be done twice a day. For cleansing use cleansers instead of soap because soap dries out your skin. And then wash your face using warm water as warm water helps to keep the skin oil free. Do not use very hot water as it can strip the skin of natural essential oils.

Choose the right cosmetic products
People having oily skin should be very careful when they select any cosmetic or facial skin care product for them. You should also be very careful when you select any kind of makeup items for your face. You should select water based cosmetic items for makeup rather than oil based cosmetics. You can also apply cucumber juice on your face before make up as cucumber juice take care of excessive oiliness. Just apply the cucumber juice let it dry and continue your make up. You can also apply loose powder throughout the day to keep your makeup look fresh.


Natural oils
According to experts, natural oils such as lemon, cedar wood and rosemary are effective in treatment oily skin. These oils work best when mixed with lanolin. Massaging your skin by mixing few drops of these oils along with lanolin is one of the effective techniques for treatment of oily skin.

Clay mask
If you have oily skin then clay mask can really help you. Use clay mask once a week to clean deep down your pores. Clay mask removes excess oil found in your skin. Besides clay mask mud mask also works effectively on oily skin.


Drink lots of water
Drink at least 10 glasses of water daily as water cleans out the harmful toxins and keeps your skin hydrated. You should not intake junk foods and high fat foods. Fruits and vegetables like watermelon, tomatoes and cucumber helps in taking care of oily skin and include them in your daily diet can really help you.
